TRADITIONAL FLOAT
AND SKIMMING

Traditional float and skimming consists of applying wet material (hard wall plaster or sand cement) which is flattened and leveled with a straight edge and then finished off with a skimming coat. 

The benefits of float and skimming compared to more common dot and dabbing is that its much stronger and the walls are air tight which helps dramatically enhancing sounds proofing plus it lasts much longer.
